BUNKERS Anne-Claire Adet

Film index A to Z

Cellphone footage reveals a claustrophobic underground bunker. Over a creepy soundtrack, a man talks about the hell of living in this concrete coffin. What he describes is truly a nightmare. This may sound like the premise for a post-apocalyptic horror movie, but unfortunately it is all too real. In Switzerland, former fallout shelters are being used as housing for refugees, confining people to life underground for an indefinite time. Putting powerful testimony over images uploaded to the Internet by the refugees themselves, Anne-Claire Adet creates a terrifying and unforgettable immersive experience that bluntly questions the unacceptable living conditions of numerous asylum-seekers.
