Doc Circuit Montréal’s Talent Lab will return for its 3rd edition this year. Forty emerging and mid-career documentary creators from all over Canada will assemble for three full days of conferences and workshops with a handpicked selection of artists, mentors, and key figures in the documentary landscape.
The Talent Lab sessions are held the round. The small number of participants and the continuity provided by moderators will allow for an intensity and intimacy to develop over the course of the three days. Highlights of 2015 edition included a Master Class with Claire Simon, a Rough Cut Screening in the company of major festival programmers and world-renown editors, and a Documentary Turn discussion in which prominent artists, filmmakers and programmers discussed the works that brought new nuances to their understanding of what documentary can be.
